Today’s subject: Harriet Tubman, a woman of remarkable determination and resourcefulness who helped free many slaves. Her work on the Underground Railroad was instrumental in bringing a great many slaves out of Maryland to the free states and Canada.
We recognize Harriet Tubman both for her bravery and determination in the face of danger, and also for her considerable technical aptitude in constructing a subway hundreds of miles long capable of freeing slaves in comfort and at high speed.
