Moses came before Pharaoh when Egypt was in Egypt’s land. “Let your people go,” Moses begged. Pharaoh hardened his heart against the Egyptians. In the streets and from the rooftops they shouted: “Let your people go.”
Pharaoh sent plagues against the Egyptians: joblessness, corruption, secret police, thugs on horseback. But always the Egyptians stood strong in a mighty throng, and with a single voice like thunder they demanded: “LET YOUR PEOPLE GO.”
With Moses at their head, the Egyptians as one walked to the Red Sea. The waters parted, and Pharaoh was forced to cross them.
Thus began his Exodus.
