I Had a Dream (100 words)
Jan. 19th, 2010 12:30 amWas it today? I fell into a painful sleep in Memphis, and found myself soaring over mighty mountains and curvaceous slopes. I heard freedom ringing, but across the nation I saw no hands joined, heard no spiritual singing. I knew white and black must join as sister and brother. And I saw it had become so, but it was also not so.
Now I dream among you. I cannot walk alone; I cannot turn back. You must join my dream, breaking my curse, springing us all.
Free at last, Free at last; God Almighty, let me go free at last.
Now I dream among you. I cannot walk alone; I cannot turn back. You must join my dream, breaking my curse, springing us all.
Free at last, Free at last; God Almighty, let me go free at last.
